What tools I give to people

I work with clients to help empower them to discover new internal pathways, implement effective coping strategies, learn to set appropriate boundaries, and foster a deeper self-awareness. Through our work together, we explore immediate and long-term goals and begin to understand the language of your inner world and where it stems from.

As part of building resiliency in the present moment, I guide clients through grounding and mindfulness techniques, helping you to stay connected to yourself as you navigate life's challenges in and out of the therapy room.

I also believe in the power of humor, and often utilize it as a means to foster a sense of shared humanity.

Some common themes that often arise are:

• My anxiety is consuming me, and robbing me of a lot of enjoyment and pleasure
• I'm feeling stuck and I need help moving through a traumatic experience
• I have conflicting feelings about addiction
• I'm looking for help in setting better boundaries with certain people, places and things
• What does this mean about me? How do I navigate my identity?

FAQs

What types of therapy do you offer?

I specialize in working with teens and women, focusing on addiction, boundaries, trauma-work, finding purpose, and building self-esteem. My approach is human centered, incorporating a melting pot of elements including Somatic integration, mindfulness, grounding techniques, and other evidence-based practices to support your personal growth and healing.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance. However, upon request, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider to see what kind of reimbursements you might be eligible for.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by contacting me directly through my website or by phone. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to determine if we are a good fit before scheduling full session.

What should I expect in the first session?

The first session is really a starting point and an opportunity for us to get to know each other better. We will discuss your goals, concerns, where you come from and how your background is informing your decisions, and what you hope to achieve through therapy together. It's a time for both of us to ask questions and for me to gather information to tailor our work together.

How long are therapy sessions?

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

How often will we meet?

Typically, sessions are held on a weekly basis, at a set time and day each week.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on your individual needs and goals. We will periodically review your progress to ensure you're getting the most out of our time together.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least a 24-hour notice for cancellations. If you cancel with less than a 24-hour notice or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee.

What are your fees?

My fees are $150 for individual sessions and $175 for couples sessions.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, everything we discuss in therapy is confidential. The only exceptions are if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if legally required. I will explain these limits of confidentiality in our first session.

What if I am not sure therapy is right for me?

It's normal to have reservations about starting therapy. That's why I offer a free consultation so you can ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit for you. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I'm here to support you in making the best decision for your well-being.
